We have been making our beds

and now we must sleep in them.

It’s the year 2040 and there is an immediate climate crisis. With little choice remaining, world leaders make a collective, pragmatic decision to save the planet. Gas will be launched into the atmosphere and the human population will be immediately plunged into a deep sleep, leaving the natural world to reset. For an entire year, all 8.5 billion humans on Earth will hibernate.

What happens when the benefits of saving the world are reaped by the rich, and the less fortunate bear the losses?
In Hibernation, stories of love, grief and revolution are wound together in a poetic telling of a possible future.
